Skyspace

One from the archive. James Turrell's 'Skyspace' at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park . It was early on a Spring morning, nobody else around, the only sound the occasional sheep - a place for deep contemplation.
Also been fortunate enough to experience the 'Skyspace, at Kielder while it was snowing. The biggy would be someday to experience the Roden Crater. Turrell has been working on it since 1977. Word on the street is that it may open to the public for the first time in 2011. High on the long list of things-to-do-before-I-die!

  2. Love this shot, a superb image. Waded through nine inches of snow up to get to the Kielder Skyscape earlier this year. I had been in the summer but it was well worth the effort in the snow. The next visit will be on a starry night, apparently the best time to visit.
