Untitled 030310#1

Now this one may be of special interest to dogenzenji. 100% digital image. No photograph here though cameras were involved in the production. An area of image making that I need to make some time to get back too.

Something cool from Central Station you may like: analogue camera animation

Happy birthday sis (in Melbourne where it's already tomorrow)

  1. I don't know what you've done there, but I like it. I don't know who your anonymous follower is either, but there are a few candidates. Whoever it is, he or she clearly has nothing better to do, which is a shame.

Thanks for the birthday wishes :-)

  2. @sleepyduck - The core of my practice in my architectural days was 3D computer visualisation and animation. This is a view of a rendered 3D image of intersecting glass planes. The (virtual)glass is transparent, the colour is from light sources used to illuminate the model.... so now you know!

  3. Hi Alexander, no problem about the anonymous thing! I am just a simple refugee like you, though in my case I couldn't get my head round the 'Sleepygate' affair.

I seem to remember you causing a few waves in the forums! Blipfoto is a great concept and was a great place to be part of but apart from the occasional check on old friends and a bit of shit stirring in the forums I keep away now.

For a business with communication at it's core, Joe was pretty crap at it. One day Joe and his fellows will sell Blip for long millions and I wish them well but it's not for me, I have a pretty good if modest time here, doing my own thing. As I say, it's not a bad place.

Your daughter is at Newcastle? Mine hopes to go to Edinburgh in 18 months. Seems a fair swap....

Ps Some of your images are very impressive. Welcome!

  4. @Jon, thanks for the good words. This place, Flickr and Central Station for me are a better fit. I agree that Blipfoto is/was a great concept. I also wish Joe well in that the big boys will most certainly come calling (if they haven't already done so) and he could make serious money. However, what Joe seems not to have realised is that Blipfoto is no longer the cosy world he created for himself (initially) and the boys in the band to play in. You can dream up as many rules you like. You can enforce/interpret them any way you choose (they are your rules after all), but you have opened the door and ultimately you cannot stop what chooses to come through.
